Living life

Gratitude list 2020

This year was a year. phew!  In fact the last 3 years of my life have been quite eventful.

As always on the blog, I list the things I am most grateful for at the end of each year. This year is no exception, although it would not be a list. The year switched up on us, so much happened, therefore I had to switch up too.

In switching up though, I am still grateful. No year has given me more anxious moments than this year. I was so anxious about many things this year. I know, I understand and I believe that God is in control of my life, but that did not stop me from worrying. But it’s amazing to have a father that you don’t have to ‘form’ anything for. Just come as you are. All the things I was anxious about, kept and still keep sorting themselves out.

Many times, I tried to measure my progress with someone else’s ruler, forgetting the ‘spec’ that I am and that in itself was a disaster.

Thankful for friends. I always say this, but it is the truth. I don’t know what I did to deserve the friends I have. God really had a field day selecting them, and I cannot complain. I just pray I am half as good as they are to me.

Thankful for spiritual leaders who lead and guide. I was blessed by many this year. Thankful for them, because they helped me in relationship with God. There were a lot of ups and down, times of doubt and rebellion. If there is any year I questioned my faith more, it was this year. At the end of it all, as my Naija people will say, ‘we still dey kampe’.

Thankful for my loving family, one filled with unconditional love. I didn’t choose my family, but I will have it no other way.

I cannot finish this writeup without a special thanks to the blog readers, you all outdid yourselves this year. The blog started as a place to express myself and my love for writing, but it has become a legit source of income for me. At the beginning of this year, I had a goal to have at least 10,000 monthly readers, but we surpassed 20,000. Thank you to all those who encouraged and keep encouraging me on this path.

Cheers to 2021, lets see how it goes. I am excited to see what it brings.

Are we still throwing fireworks this year? Because I need to set up a big rainbow one.
