Naomi's Diary

The one where – I lack words

A lot is happening in the world today, but a cute nail is top tier.

It is intriguing how two completely different realities can exist within the exact same space.

I try to find the words to describe it, but I am coming up empty. In plain English, I lack words.

Some people are happy; others are sad. Some are hopeful; others have lost hope. People mourn, while others rejoice.

The list goes on.

Life is a paradox, and I don’t seem to have the words to fully capture how I feel about it.

Seeing these parallels play out side-by-side, I sometimes feel like an onlooker, watching it all unfold.

I am putting this into writing, but the thoughts in my head are scattered, meaning this piece might feel scattered, too. Don’t say I didn’t warn you, I told you from the very beginning – I lack words.

Righteousness vs. Empathy

Recently, I have witnessed debates about right and wrong.

The Rigid righteous stance

Some claim to be God’s right hand, speaking His mind without caring whose ox is gored.

* The Empathetic stance

Others claim that empathy is what is truly needed, arguing that you cannot speak on a situation until you have lived it.

This makes me wonder, does empathy water down righteousness, or does righteousness water down empathy? Not only do I lack words for this, but I am also lacking answers.

Who is right, and who is wrong? Why do we have so many different interpretations for a single occurrence, even among people who supposedly believe the same things?

Some say two truths can co-exist. Can two truths really co-exist side-by-side without one trying to invalidate the other?

It seems everyone and everything is fighting for dominance. One religious doctrine wants dominance over another; one civil group wants dominance over another.

In this life, it feels as though we operate under the rule that only one thing can be right at a time. We seemingly cannot just exist side-by-side.

The Sudden Curve & Relationships

There are so many contradictions in life and in this write-up.

Sometimes you go on a choosen path, feeling deeply confident that you have a firm grip on the road ahead and what to expect. Then, a sudden curve appears in the road, and that confidence begins to shake.

Personally, I am trying to disassociate from everything happening in the world and live in my own little bubble. Unfortunately, reality always finds a way in.

I was at a relationship seminar recently, and a preacher said relationships aren’t rocket science. I tend to agree—but then again, it is rocket science in a way. Don’t ask me how. I lack words

I find it fascinating how life can be simple and complicated all at the same time.

The things mentioned in this subset, do not seem to correlate, but I guess if you have read up to this point, you know we are long past the point of correlation.

The Irony of Effort

Look at how we succeed and fail.

* Some people work incredibly hard and get what they want. Others work just as hard and get absolutely nothing. Some would say the first part is expected right?

• Some don’t do much at all and get everything they need. Others don’t do much and get nothing. In this, some would say the last part is expected right?

Why does it seem like some people are chosen in this world and others are not?

Why do two people follow the exact same path and end up with completely different results? Would you say it is the effect of Grace, Favor, and Mercy maybe?

And if so, why does Grace, Favor, and Mercy seem to work for some, but not for others?

Life is ironic.

Final Thoughts

I may know some answers to these questions based off my beliefs and my upbringing, but there no answer to fully capture the true essence of what is happening. Or is there one?

A thought just crossed my mind: even this very write-up will be interpreted in a dozen different ways by the people who read it.

Life is interesting, and with everything going on in this world, the more I see, the less I understand.

Anyway, I love my cute nails. 😘
